3.5 Isolated Digital Output Connections

USB-4718 has 8 isolated digital output channels designated IDO0~IDO7.

Each of isolated output channels comes equipped with a Darlington tran-

sistor. All 8 output channels share common collectors and integral sup-

pression diodes for inductive loads. Figure 3-4 shows how to connect an

external output load to the module’s isolated outputs.

Note:

1. It is necessary to connect the "OCOM" pin with a external power

source for wiring.

2. If an external voltage (5 ~ 30 VDC) is applied to an isolated output

channel while it is being used as an output channel, the current willflow

from the external voltage source to the card. Please take care thatthe cur-

rent through each IDO pin not exceed 200 mA.
