The Pentium III-based PPC-123T was chosen because of its high performance and full list of features,already approved European and
US certifications,always on industrial proven reliability,expansion flexibility including PCI SCSI and PCMCIA and the ability to come
with a pre-installed/configured Microsoft
®
Windows 2000 OS. The high brightness LCD touchscreen display, scalability,ability to
seamlessly integrate into anynetworked environment along withthe flexibility and compact sizeto physically fitapplication requirements,
made the PPC-123T an attractive computing center to build this application around.
System
The system integrator that developedthis photo-processing machine forthis major client won the contract by quickly deploying hundreds
of systems throughout Europe and the US.The PPC-123T is CE,FCC and UL approved,modular designed,all-in-one system with four
serial ports,2 USB ports,2 PCMCIA slots and CD-ROM,and can stand alone with full PC capability.The OS was installed upon delivery,
confirming system integrity and proper operation.They only needed to install the proprietary software,and integrate the PPC with the
other part of the system (the external drives and SSD readers) using the serial ports and the PCI expansion slot for their high speed
SCSI needs.The modular construction also makes system maintenance more efficient.The PPC-123T's LCD and faceplate can easily
be removed and serviced. In this application, the PPC-123T was actually mounted into the custom-designed faceplate/cover. Fast
